科学与宗教的和谐

Religion and science are the two wings upon which man’s intelligence can soar into the heights, with which the human soul can progress. It is not possible to fly with one wing alone! 宗教与科学是人类的两边羽翼，人的智力藉此得以翱翔高飞，灵魂由此取得了进步。用一面翅膀来飞是不可能的！假如一个人只用宗教的翅膀飞翔，他将很快掉入迷信的深渊。另一方面，假如他只靠科学的翅膀来飞，也一样飞不动，而要坠入唯物主义的泥淖，彻底绝望。——阿博都-巴哈。

Any religious belief which is not conformable with scientific proof and investigation is superstition, for true science is reason and reality, and religion is essentially reality and pure reason; therefore the two must correspond. Religious teaching which is at variance with science and reason is human invention and imagination unworthy of acceptance, for the antithesis and opposite of knowledge is superstition born of the ignorance of man. 任何宗教信仰如果与科学的求证、调查不吻合，就是迷信。因为真正的科学讲究理解和真实，而宗教基本上也是讲求真相和理性。因此两者必须吻合。违悖科学和理性的宗教教义，皆是人的发明和想象，没有采用的价值。因知识的对立面是迷信，而迷信出自愚昧。要是有人说宗教与科学是互相对抗的，那他不是对真正的科学缺乏认识，就是不了解真正的宗教。这两个事物都是建立在理性的前提和结论上，它们必须经得起理性的考验。——阿博都-巴哈。
